As a leader in international youth leadership development, AMIGOS gives young people the chance to gain life experience that is impossible to get in the classroom. Together, US and Latin American program participants train and learn to collaborate and lead projects in areas such as public health, environmental sustainability, youth entrepreneurship, children's rights, creative expression, or sports and fitness. Our programs create an opportunity for youth in high school and college to develop character-defining skills in leadership. They learn critical skills in working across cultural boundaries in our increasingly interconnected world.
We believe that now, more than any other time in history, it is imperitive that young people learn to build bridges across cultures both at home and abroad. It is critical that they learn to think beyond themselves and become active participants in ever improving the world we live in. AMIGOS trains young people the hard way that nobody can change the world by themselves. It takes committment, partnership, humility, and ownership at the community level.
This year, we are asking each of you to support the continued work of AMIGOS and our vision of a world where each young person becomes a life-long catalyst for social change. Any gift you can provide will ensure that AMIGOS continues to have an impact as young people are empowered to continue working for others when they return home and throughout their lives.
Thank you for considering a gift to continue the work of AMIGOS.
